Slimming down is possible if we follow a balanced diet and we mix with physical exercise, we all know that.
But, also, there are some morning tricks that allow you to reach your health goals faster.
Here are 5 changes to your morning routine that will help you
1) Don’t oversleep
Between 7-8 hours of sleep is enough for your body to get all the health benefits of rest. However, many of us either do not sleep enough or sleep too much. Especially on weekends.
But there are studies showing that stretching the recommended hours in bed can have detrimental effects for people trying to lose weight. A study has shown that people who sleep 9-10 hours a day are 20% more likely to be obese.
Also, after 7-8 hours of sleep, you’ll feel sluggish and have less energy to have an active day, which is critical for a healthy weight.
2) Don't look at your phone just yet
Yes, you will have emails, Whatsapp messages, likes, comments, etc, etc. You open them and, all of a sudden, 2 hrs have gone by, and you’re late for [something]! That something should’ve been your morning exercise.
3) Stretch out and open the curtains
Overnight, your muscles get stiff due to inactivity. Stretching loosens them and tells your brain that you are already awake and ready to tackle the day.
Then, open the curtains, especially if there is already sunlight. Few things give our bodies more natural energy than sunlight.
4) Weigh yourself in the morning
According to weight-loss experts and research, the best time to weigh yourself first thing every morning — not just once a week.
“Make it part of your morning ritual. You need to know that number on a consistent basis to help you manage your weight to make better decisions about your health."
And the “trick” is to NOT look at the weight just yet. A smart scale will tell you much more, like your fat and muscle rate. Also, a precise body composition scale like the FitTrack Dara will measure even the smallest improvements.
5) Exercise first thing in the morning
You don’t need more than 7-15 min to get a healthy full-body workout done in the morning. That will leave you energized for the rest of the day.
And if exercising still feels like a chore, you’ll get it over with before the day even starts!
